'Synthpop Goes the World' will be the largest ever gathering of synthpop bands and fans in North America. This will be a very unique event that will offer you the opportunity to see many of your favourite bands in an intimate setting on Toronto's lakefront. It all happens June 28-30, which is Canada's birthday long weekend. This means fireworks over the lake, much consuming of alcohol, and crazy celebration. This is not just a concert, but an experience of a lifetime.

The bands were selected to show a wide variety of electronic music; styles that range from the driving beats of electro-industrial and future pop to the more traditional melodic synthpop sound. All the bands are fiercely talented and are wicked performers. They come from all over the world and more than half of them have never played in Canada.

In addition, we will have several electrifying DJ's that will take over the sound system between bands and play until 3am each night. There will also be further DJ's downstairs spinning a variety of music all night. This will allow for some serious booty shaking and a chance to socialize with other synthpop fans.

The downstairs area will also be home to the vendors area. You will be able to buy rare synthpop t-shirts, CD's, and other merchandise. Of course, we will also have our own SGTW branded t-shirts and merchandise available.

The venue is the Palais Royale, a historic landmark right on the edge of Lake Ontario. The Palais was built in the early 1900's and was used as a big band swing club in the first half of that century. Now, it is used to host concerts and raves.

'Synthpop Goes the World' is an ALL AGES event, but is also licensed for those people over the age of 19. Just bring ID and you will be fitted with a waxed paper wristband (inevitably ripping out arm hair) that means, "fill me up with the booze". ;)

The sound and lighting system will be tremendous. We will be pumping out 40000watts of sweet surround sound, intelligent lighting, lasers, and multimedia projections. Imagine, a synthpop rave!

Toronto will be the host city for SGTW. Toronto is a great city with much to offer on this long weekend. Visit the Toronto section to see what cool things you can do during the day if you're not passed out from overindulging the night before.

For many years DJ Lazarus has been one of the hardest working DJ/promoters in Toronto. His name represents quality events that are well organized and always fun. DJ Lazarus has been involved in bringing many wonderful events to life including DARKRAVE, Fetish Masquerade, Sideshow Sundays, Heroes of the 80's, Depeche Mode Fest, the Cure Fest, the Smiths Fest, Flux Fridays, Temptation Thursdays, Pop Technique Tuesdays (coming soon), and now 'Synthpop Goes the World'.
